Hello and welcome to the Speech/Language Pathology web page at Bedford Elementary. I am the Speech/Language Pathologist at BES for the 2014/2015 school year. I will be at BES on Monday through Friday. I will also be providing speech therapy for community based pre-schoolers throughout the week.
Providing speech services at BES and to community pre-schoolers involves working with preschool and elementary age children with communication delays/disorders. These delays may include articulation, phonology, fluency, receptive/expressive language, language processing, auditory processing and apraxia.
All kindergarten students as well as transfer students new to Bedford County Schools automatically receive a speech and language screening within 60 business days of enrollment. This screening includes communication with the child's classroom teacher. Furthermore, any student may receive a speech/language screening when concerns regarding speech/language development are noted by the classroom teacher and/or parent.
