- Be Prepared: Go to bed on time (9-12 hours!), do your practice work (study), and eat a well rounded breakfast!
- Stop, Look, and Listen: Pay close attention to the person reading the directions, they can only go over things once!
- Plug it In: On multiple choice questions that ask you to fill in the blank, try each answer choice to see which ones do / do not make sense!
- Stash the Trash: Use
the tools available to you on the computer to mark out wrong answers for better focus!
- Pace Yourself: Take your time, and stay focused! This is a mental marathon, don’t wear yourself out at the beginning! Keep the pace!
- Reframe Your Thinking: Positive vs. Negative self talk.. Say things like “I can do this! I have been studying all year! I’ve got this!”
- No Fear: “Don’t fear the test, just do your best!”
- Jail the Detail: Use the highlight function on key words / phrases on the test!
- Zap the Maps: Pay close attention to any keys, maps, and legends. They’re there for a reason! 10 - Check it Out!: Double check over work AND your answer choice! Did you select the answer that you
meant to?
